Introducing the

America’s Credit Union Challenge
compete, learn, and move the industry forward.

Eight teams of four work together to achieve the best Apex Score, guiding Lakeside Community Credit Union — a fictional $743M institution modeled on real NCUA 5300 Call Report data.

The America’s Credit Union Challenge is a first-of-its-kind tournament run on a first-of-its-kind credit union simulator, CU ApexSim. Credit unions, fintechs, leagues and industry partners field teams of four.

12 rounds, 6 weeks. Teams of four play The Long Cycle scenario. Best Apex Score wins.
Finishing in Manchester. Every round virtual but the last, played live at the America’s Credit Union Museum — where the movement started.
About 75 minutes a round. 30–45 minutes of decisions, then a 30-minute virtual debrief.
Bring a fintech, league or industry partner. A maximum of 3 participants per credit union on any one team is encouraged.

All proceeds benefit the America’s Credit Union Museum. Whatever the Challenge raises goes to the Museum in Manchester, New Hampshire — where the movement started, and where the final round is played.

Built on CU ApexSim

A team-based credit union simulation. Four executive seats, one real balance sheet, three scenarios — built by the nation’s first credit union, for the credit union industry.

CEOWhere capital goes. Processes the quarter.
CFODeposit pricing and the investment book.
CLOThe credit box and loan pricing.
CMOMembers and relationships.

Nobody sees the whole picture alone — the conversation between the seats is the exercise. Scored on CAMEL components and peer percentiles, the lens an examiner already uses, on a balance sheet built from NCUA Call Report data.
